“Computer science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes.” — Michael Fellows

As a discipline, computer science spans a range of topics from theoretical studies of algorithms and the limits of computation to the practical issues of implementing computing systems in hardware and software. It identifies areas such as- theory of computation, algorithms and data structures, programming methodology and languages, and computer elements and architecture, software engineering, artificial intelligence, computer networking and communication, database systems, parallel computation, distributed computation, human-computer interaction, computer graphics, operating systems, and numerical and symbolic computation as being important areas of computer science.

The Department of Computer Science is one of the earliest departments running successfully in our College. Currently, it has 7 faculty members and many students working towards their Bachelor’s degrees. Its fields can be divided into theoretical and practical disciplines. The department attracts high-quality students and has an impressive placement record. Many graduates choose to join some of the best institutions of higher learning around the world, whereas some prefer to gain a few years of work experience before deciding their next course of action.

We have two well-equipped and Well-furnished  Computer Labs at our College premises. Students, faculty, and staff have access to these computer labs, which provide the tools and technologies to produce websites, edit papers, complete class assignments, communicate via email, conduct data analyses, and access library resources. Microsoft Windows software is available for word processing, statistics, spreadsheets, and database management. A variety of graphics and website-creation software programs are also available
